Somewhere over the Rainbow

Hello guys! I'm back. I'm really sorry for not updating for almost a month. Been busy with work and a lot of things happened to me. I feel bad when I saw that I started this story last Nov 2012 and haven't finished it til now =( I'm really a bad writer. All I can say is that its ending soon, maybe five chapters more. Thank you to those who still waits for my update.

Chapter 22

Hwangbo began suspecting that something’s wrong when she saw a bunch of reporters by the entrance of the school.  Even if she’s not sure that they’re waiting for her, Fei, who was walking with her decided to just use the back entrance of the university. Fei and Hyejung became really good friends. Since they live in the same building most of the time they would walk to the university together. Thankfully, they were able to get inside without any fuss. Just when her lesson was about to start, Hyejung’s phone ring so she immediately answered it.

“Oppa, my lesson’s about to start. Why did you call?” she whispered.

“Someone spotted you and Atty. Park in a café’ near the university. It’s all over the news here and I’m sure there are reporters who are going to look for you there. Try not to be caught by them. My plane’s about to leave so just wait for me.”  He rattled on

“What?! What about Hyunjoong? Do you think he already saw the news?” Hyejung asked worriedly.

“I’m not sure but most probably. I got to go now.” And her manager hung up.

Hwangbo dialed Hyunjoong’s number as soon the call with her manager ended. She worried all the more when she cannot contact her boyfriend. The professor arrived so she has no choice but to wait for her class to be over before trying to contact him again.

When her class was over she decided to see Fei and ask for help so she can go home.

“Fei, is there any other route to our apartment? I need to go home unnoticed by those reporters.” She asked.

“I already called my brother and he will pick us up. Just give me five minutes to fix my things and we’ll leave.”  Fei calmly advised.

“Thank you so much and I’m sorry for the trouble Fei.” Hyejung uttered.

“No worries, Hyejung. We’re friends so I’ll help you in any way I can. “She replied with a smile.

After ten minutes, Fei’s brother texted that he’s already waiting by the parking lot. The two rushed to the parking and they were able to leave unnoticed. When they reached their apartment building, Fei and her brother checked the area so they can inform Hwangbo should there be reporters around. When they were sure that the area’s safe, only then Hwangbo came out and rushed towards her place.

As soon as she was inside her apartment, she tried calling Hyunjoong but her call was unanswered. She went to her room to change into a more comfortable clothes as she wait for her manager. She was surprised when she opened her door and found Hyunjoong sprawled and sleeping peacefully on her bed. She walked towards the bed and gently lay beside him. She was busy running her hands on his hair while staring at him, when he suddenly lean towards her and stole a kiss.

“ Yah! I thought you were sleeping!” Hwango exclaimed and gently pushed Hyunjoong.

“How can I sleep when you’re lying next to me?” He answered with a grin. He then sat up, his back on the headboard while Hyejung still snuggled on his side.

“Honey, this morning…have you read it?” Hyejung stuttered with her question.

“Yes. But don’t worry baby. I trust you. I know it has something to do with our new project. Am I correct?” Hyunjoong replied.

“He just ask something about the contract for the project.We didn’t even stay for more than ten minutes. I was surprised that somebody saw us. I tried calling you after Oppa informed me this morning but I can’t reach you. I was so scared that you will take this negatively,” She explained.

“I was already on my way to the airport when I saw the paper. Yes I was a bit annoyed but it’s not because I’m afraid you’d do something like that. It’s because I can’t announce yet that I ‘am your man. I wanted to shove the newspaper on their face and tell the whole world that Hwangbo Hyejung is mine. My woman and not someone else’s” Hyunjoong exclaimed in frustration.

“I know honey. But we need to wait for your company’s go signal. Anyway, if we shoot the commercial and once it’s out we can just wait for people’s reaction. I’m praying that our fans way before in we got married will still be there to support us.” Hyejung tried to pacify her boyfriend.

“But the commercial will only be shown here in Hongkong.” He countered.

“I’m sure the netizens will find our commercial, honey. Besides, you are a Hallyu start so I’m very sure this will leak out in Korean media and even in other countries where you have fanbase.” She replied.

“Baby, promise me that you won’t give up on us even if my fans’ reaction will not be what we want. Promise me that you will stick with me and that we will be brave to stand up for our love.” Hyunjoong again ranted.

“Aigoo, you really read a lot of mangas. Why so melo-drama, honey?” Hyejung jibed.

“Hyejung, I’m not joking.  I’m worried that you might leave me when fans threaten to stop supporting me if they found out about us. I’m not going to let that happen.” He sternly replied.

Hyejung dropped a kiss on his cheek before answering.

“Trust me, honey. Im yours for keeps.I’ll be beside you even if your fans don’t approve. I’ll show them how much I love you, I’ll take good care of you til they believe that I’m worthy of your love. “

“You don’t need to get their approval. Even if they don’t I will still marry you.” Hyunjoong clarified.

“Wait..is that a proposal, honey?” Hyejung asked.

“No. Not yet since I don’t have a ring for you yet. But I’m just saying that I will marry you.” He answered.

“So..You are going to marry me?” she asked with a sly grin.

“Yes. Why? Are you not planning to marry me?” Hyunjoong asked back a scowl evident on his face.

Hyejung was about to answer when the doorbell startled them both.

“Maybe that’s my manager. I’ll get the door.” And she got off the bed.

“Wait, baby you haven’t gave me an answer yet.” Hyunjoong shouted before she was able to leave the room.

“I will not give you an answer unless I saw my engagement ring.” Hyejung hollered and playfully run towards the door.

“Aisshhh, I need to buy her ring as soon as possible.” And he got off the bed too, to follow Hyejung.

Hwangbo and her manager were already seated wheh Hyunjoong walked in and sat beside his girlfriend.

“Hello, Dong Won Hyung. “ Hyunjoong greeted.

“Nice to see you Hyunjoongssi. I see you’ve got an earlier flight. Have you two talked about the news in the papers today?” Hyejung’s manager asked.

“Yes, Oppa and we’re okay. We’ll just let it pass.” Hyejung replied.

“I just thought of a plan but we will only do it if the Songs agreed to it as well as your manager, Hyunjoong-ssi.” Dongwon advised.

The couple and the manager discussed for some time and then Dongwon left after. The two headed to bed.

Saturday – the day for the discussion with the Songs, Hyejung arrived with Dongwon while Hyunjoong came in with his manager. He left Hyejung’s place early morning to avoid being spotted. Atty.Park and the Songs were already waiting and they started the meeting immediately. After about an hour, the Songs bid goodbye to everyone with a smile on their face. Myungsoo went ahead and the couple’s manager were both busy making some arrangement. Hyunjoong and Hyejung were left in the meeting hall as they wait for their manager.

“Honey, are you okay with Oppa’s decision.” Hyejung asked as he played with Hyunjoong’s fingers.

“I’m good but I’m nervous as well. I didn’t though that we’ll have this here in Hongkong.” Hyunjoong replied.

“But I’m excited. I hope Oppa can finish the arrangement for tomorrow.” she added.

“I’m sure he will.” He simply replied.

When their managers finished their calls, they went back to the couple and told them that they have to leave. They went with their own managers but Hyunjoong will be dropped in Hyejung’s apartment.

Came Sunday morning, Hyejung and Myungsoo were waiting in a café while some press gathered round. Dong won was just a table away watching.

“Hyejung-ssi, it’s a surprise to see you here in Hongkong. Are you here for a vacation?” asked one of the reporters.

“I’m actually a student in one of the Universities here. I got a scholarship so I took some time off from show business to study.” Hyejung replied.

“And what about this handsome guy beside you? Is he one of the reason why you chose to study here?” another reporter enquired.

‘I want you to meet Lawyer Park Myungsoo. He is also Korean and a good friend of mine.” She answered.

“Just friends? Then why do you look so cozy together.” A sneaky reporter asked which made Hyejung chuckled.

“Yes, we are just friends. And when the reporters saw us, I don’t think we were being cozy, we were actually discussing something.” Hyejung explained and turn to Myungsoo.

“Actually, I am here to represent Choi Galleries. Hwangbo ssi was chosen by our partners here to be the model of our company in Hongkong. She and another Korean artist will film a commercial for our company” Myungsoo confirmed.

“Are you guys, curious to know who my partner will be? He’s actually here.” Hyejung teased the eager reporters.

“Well, guys, let me introduce my partner for Choi Galleries’ ad, Kim Hyunjoong-ssi.” She stated with a smile. Hyunjoong walked in and bowed to greet the reporters He then sat beside Hyejung and said.

“It’s nice to see you here. I hope everyone will support our commercial. It’ll be our first project after We got Married so were really excited. We will both work hard for it.”

The reporters had a field day taking pictures and recording the “SSangchu” couple’s first appearance since after their “farewell” in 2008.
