Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Hello guys...are you still here.lol..anyways, this is the second to the last chapter.. I hope I can finish this by Hyunjoong;s birthday but if not be patient okay..hehehe

Chapter 25

It was only seven in the morning when Hyejung woke up. She turned to face Hyunjoong who was spooned behind her. Gently she ran her fingers on his nose, loving the way he looked so peaceful in sleep. If only she can make the time stop so that they can stay in this bubble of happiness they were in. Even though Hyunjoong assured her many times that nothing will change after they admitted their relationship, there’s a big part of her that worries.  Her eyes caught the shimmer of the ring on her left ring finger and she raised her hands to look at it closely. It is really beautiful.  It’s a white gold solitaire diamond ring with sapphire stone accent. Hyejung smiled at the thought of Hyunjoong choosing the ring for her. He can really be picky but she knew that what he chose is the best and something that fits her perfectly.

“Do you like the ring, baby?”  Hyunjoong hoarse voice from sleep startled her. He scoots closer and nuzzled her neck.

“It’s lovely, babe. I really love it.” Hyejung replied with a smile and dropped a quick kiss on his lips.

“Glad you like it. It’s a replica of Mom’s engagement ring though she seldom wears it. She’s afraid she might lose it.  The ring is really like you baby. Simple yet very elegant and of high value.” Hyunjoong explained.

“So your mother knew you were proposing to me?” Hyejung asked.

“Yes. I asked for her help to with the ring so I needed to tell her. She was so excited and told me that she’ll ask you out yesterday to give me time to prepare for my proposal.” He answered.

“Oh, I see. So maybe my mother knew about it, too.” She added.

"I guess so baby.” And Hyunjoong embraced her tightly. For a while they stay like that. Simply letting the time pass in each other’s arms. Hyejung then heard the door bell so she hesitantly got up and done a robe before opening the door.  When she came back to the bedroom, Hyunjoong was already sitting in the middle of the bed checking his phone.

“What’s that baby?” he asked as Hyejung made her way back to bed.

“I don’t know. But its address to you and me.” Hyejung replied. They sat closer to each other while Hyejung began tearing the wrapper of the package and gave Hyunjoong the card.

“To Hyejung and Hyunjoong. Congratulations and we’re all looking forward to your wedding.”

“Baby, it’s from your mom and mine. Did you see them buying something yesterday?” Hyunjoong told her.

“No. I didn’t notice it. Come on, let ‘s take a look what’s inside the box.”  And Hyejung took out the items on the box – a set of Bath essentials 

“Oh this smells lovely Hyujoong-ah.” And Hyejung let him smell the shower gel she was holding.

“Yes. Baby. I’m sure we’ll enjoy that together. “He replied with sleazy smile.

“Aisssh, you always have “that” in your mind.  Let me rest once in a while, will you?”  Hyejung replied and gently swat his arm.

“That’s your problem for having a fiancée’ as young, virile, handsome like me. And I didn’t hear you complain until today...” Hyunjoong rebuts.

“I can never win against you. Anyway, what’s our plan? Do we have to attend to anything?” Hyejung asked.

“My manager advised me that they are receiving lots of request for interview but they’re saying no for now. Maybe in the coming days but we can choose who will do the interview.”  He told her.

 

“Then we’re free for the mean time?  I can go back to school by Monday. I’ll just ask assistance from Fei. I already missed a lot and need to catch up with my studies.” Hyejung sigh.

“It’s okay for me but ask your manager as well. I can stay with you for a few days.” Hyunjoong advised.

“I will. We still have two more days here anyway. Should we head to Choi Estate?” Hyejung asked excitedly.

“Sure. We can leave before lunch. I’ll call Butler Sol. “he agreed.

“Alright. I’ll take a shower then prepare our breakfast.” She replied and started walking away.

“Baby, let’s shower together.” Hyunjoong joked.

“ Aisssh! Hyunjoong-ah!” she exclaimed with a smile.

The couple arrived in Choi estate at around ten in the morning. Butler Sol was already waiting by the foyer and warmly welcomes them as soon as they stepped out of the car.

 

“It’s nice to have you back Hyunjoong-ssi, Hyejung-ssi.” Butler Sol greeted.

“We’ve been really busy so we weren’t able to visit often. Sorry for the late notice this morning.” Hyunjoong replied.

 

“You don’t need to worry about a thing, Hyunjoongssi. The estate is yours and Hyejung’s. Your rooms are always ready for you.” Butler Sol countered.

“Alright. We’ll just take a rest for a while. By the way Bitler Sol, place my bags in Hyejung’s room.”

The butler nodded and ushered them inside the house.

Its half past one when Hyejung woke up from her nap. Hyunjoong was not beside her anymore so she decided to look for him. She went down and found him in the foyer talking to someone on the phone.

“No Hyung. It’s okay. I’ve anticipated this. It’s okay. Let’s just hope that some company will still push thru with the offer. I’m sorry, Hyung but Hyejung is more important that anything.” Hyunjoong then took a sigh before he hung up.

Hyejung’s eyes misted and she quietly walked towards him. She gently snake her arms on his waist and dropped her chin on his shoulder.

“I’m sorry, Hyunjoong. Sorry for being someone your fans don’t approve.” Hyejung whispered.

Hyunjoong turned to face her and dropped a quick kiss on her lips.

“Baby, I don’t think my fans will approve anyone. Even if it’s someone else they will still be against it.  You don’t need to be sorry. I love you and Im going to marry you. Ive said it even before. I don’t believe in impossible relationship. As long as I love you and you love me back then we’ll make it work.”

“But you’re losing your projects. Your career is at stake and its making me sad. This is something you’ve work hard for so long.” Hyejung countered.

“Hyejung, listen. Why do I work hard? To support my family and my own family someday. Now I can say that Ive done my best to support my parents. But what’s my career for if Im not gonna be with you. Don’t worry too much, please, baby. I have enough investment and savings for us to live comfortably. I also believe that after a few months things will settle down. Please, just hang on and stand beside me.” Hyunjoong said.

Hyejung just nodded and held him tighter. Just then Butler Sol walked in and faked a cough.

“Hyunjoong-ssi, Hyejungssi, table’s ready for your lunch.” And he walked out with a smile. The couple followed him chucklng and holding each other’s hand.

“Butler Sol, do we have newspaper here? I just would just like to check something.”  Hyejung asked.

Butler Sol came back after a few minutes with several newspaper in hands. Hyejung took it and scanned some pages.

“Have you read the news Butler Sol?” Hyejung then asked again to which he nodded.

“ Hyunjoong and I are together well in fact were already engaged.” She added.

“That’s a very good news, Hyejung-ssi. You two look good together. I’m sure if the Chois are alive, they’d be so happy.” Butler Sol replied.
“The Chois brought us back and we’re very thankful. Though we haven’t set the date, I’ve been thinking of having our wedding here. What do you think, Hyejung?” Hyunjoong asked.

“I’ve been thinking the same thing. We can set it where we held my party last time.” Hyejung agreed.

“I’m sure the whole staff will be very happy and excited for this. “ Butler Sol added.

After their meal, the couple decided to tour around the estate. Butler Sol offered to drive them around but they just told him that they’ll walk. They reached the peach orchard after 15 minutes and decided to stop for a while. Hyunjoong looked around and found a mat rolled up in one of the branches. He rolled it out so they can rest.

“Baby, can we set the wedding this year?” Hyunjoong asked

“I’ll be finishing my 1 year course in Hongkong in a few months. Maybe we can set in by the end of this year.” Hyejung replied.

“Can we set it on your birthday?” Hyunjoong asked again.

Sure, honey. But Im just a bit worried if I will have enough time to prepare. My class will end by the same month. “ Hyejung answered with a smile.

“Don’t worry baby. I’m sure we will have enough help. My mother and yours are really excited so I’m sure they will be more than willing to help us out.” Hyunjoong assured her.

All of a sudden the couple felt raindrops hitting them. They stood up immediately and Hyunjoong grab the mat to cover them. They ran towards the gazebo while laughing. They waited for the rain to stop and when it did, Hyunjoong held Hyejung’s hand so they walk back towards the main house.

“Babe, look.” Hyejung stopped and exclaimed. Hyunjoong was startled and look at what his girlfriend was pointing to.

“It’s a rainbow. Lovely.” Hyunjoong mumbled as they both stare at it for some time.

“Babe, I think it’s a sign. We may be facing storms right now but I know it’ll all come to pass. We just have to wait patiently. We’ll see our rainbow soon.” Hyejung uttered with a contented smile.

“I know baby. We can get thru this. Just hold my hand and be my side.” Hyunjoong replied and dropped a quick kiss on her lips.
