Chapter 7

“You keep on calling me Noona, then Buin. What do you really want to call me, anyway?” Hyejung asked with pure mischief in her eyes.

Hyejung laughed at Hyunjoong’s deer caught in the headlight expression. She then pinched his cheeks and continue her descend. She reached the ground and smile at Butler Sol.

“Were you comfortable in your room Hyejungssi?” Butler Sol asked.

“The room is nice, Butler Sol. Now I’m so excited to tour the whole estate.” She replied.  Just as she finished her sentence she felt a hand on her waist and a whisper in her ear.

“Yeobo. I wanted to call you that ever since.”

Hyejung was stunned and just stood there rooted on her spot. Hyunjoong told the butler that they can go and they began walking. He was able to take a few steps when he noticed that Hyejung was still not moving so he walked back and gently tug her hand. Only then was she able to pull herself back and follow Hyunjoong out. She can hear Hyunjoong’s soft chuckle so she walked a bit faster so she can be beside him. She extricates Jins from his arms and let the poor dog walked.

“You’ve been torturing her, you know. Let her walk.” Hyejung advised.

Hyunjoong just ignored her comment but took Jins’ leash from her. They follow Butler Sol in silence as they walk around the estate. After about five minutes they reached the gazebo that Hyejung saw from the garden. Hyejung rushed towards it and exclaimed.

“Oh! This is just perfect. It’s just near the pond and it’s great for family events.”

“This is one of Hera-nim’s favorite spot in the estate. Every birthday was held here." Butler Sol explained.

“It’s also nice if you can put string of lights to illuminate the place in the evening. This is really nice” Hyejung stated with delight.

Butler Sol and Hyunjoong were just watching her stroll around and Jins running after her. After sometime Hyunjoong called out to her.

“Yoebo, can we just comeback some other time and just proceed with checking the whole place first?”

Hyejung picked up Jins and walked towards the men.

“We’ll go back tomorrow, Butler Sol.” And then walked beside Hyunjoong. “Are you really planning to call me that, Hyunjoong-ah?”

“Yes. Why? You don’t like it? What do you want me to call you, Ahjumma?”He replied.

“Call me Noona. It’s better that way.” Hyejung ordered.

“No. I’d rather call you Buin.” He disagreed.

“That was four years ago, Hyunjoong and we were acting then. This is real life.” She rebut.

“But...” Hyunjoong was about to reason out but then he saw Hyejung already walking ahead of him. He rushed beside her but sulking.

“Would you like to take our golf cart, Hyunjoongssi?” Butler Sol asked.

“It’s okay Butler Sol. I’m good. Maybe Noona would like to." Hyunjoong replied emphasizing  the word "Noona".

“No I’m good. I like walking. Thank you for the offer, Butler Sol.” Hyejung answered with a smile. She then turned to Hyunjoong.

“Hyunjoong-ah, why are you acting like that? We were fine earlier.”She inquired.

“I just can’t understand you. You asked me earlier what I want to call you so I answered. Now you’re telling me not to call you that."Hyunjoong explained.

“Are serious about that? As in really?” Hyejung asked in disbelief.

“Do I look like I'm joking?" He replied with firmness.

“Hyunjoong-ah. Calling me Yeobo is too much. Were not together, let me remind you.” She clarified.

“I know that. But I can’t call you Noona. I won’t.” He again stated.

“So you’ll be like this the whole time we are here?” she asked again to which he didn't give a reply. They just continue walking, looking around the estate with Butler Sol just a few steps ahead of them. She then nudged him gently but he just stepped away from her.

“Yah, Hyunjoong-ah, okay you win. You can call me Buin and that’s it.” Hyejung grunted.

Hyunjoong stopped and waited for her to walk beside him. He then gave her a big smile and reached for her hand.

“Come on, Buin, walk faster Butler Sol is already a bit far.'" He uttered with a silly grin.

They walked for about ten minutes more and reached the peach and mango orchard.

“This is Mirin-ssi’s orchard. He spent most of his days here after Hera-ssi died. The fruits here bear the sweetest peach and mango.The staff usually preserved the fruits and made them into marmalade and some of them we also gave out to our staff’s family and those of Choi’s gallery."The Butler again explained.

“The Choi’s are really good souls, Butler Sol.” Hyejung stated.

“Yes they were. Most of the staff here are long time employees already. Leaving them never crossed our minds. ” He confirmed.

Hyejung and Hyunjoong saw how the butler loved and respected the Choi couple. And since the estate was already left to them they have a big image to live up to. Since it will be too tiring to tour the estate by foot, Butler Sol advised them that they will head back after going to the pool side. At the mention of pool, Hyejung’s eyes brighten in excitement. It was on the opposite side of the garden so they cross the other side of the main house. A golf cart was already waiting for them. The couple sat together as Butler Sol drove the cart. On their way he explained that some areas are just well maintained greenery. Hera has green thumb and besides the garden where they had breakfast, there are still beds of flowering plants on the other side but they will just have to check it tomorrow. They reached the pool area in no time. Hyunjoong took Jins from Hyejung so she can check the pool.

“Hyunjoong-ah, let’s take a dip when the sun sets. The water looks so inviting.” Hyejung asked him.

“Okay. You packed your swimwear?” Hyunjoong asked to which Hyejung nodded. Hyunjoong turned to the butler and asked. “Wouldn’t it be too cold later?”

“There’s a small natural hot spring near the pool if it’s chilly.” Butler Sol offered.The couple then agreed to go for swim before they’ll have dinner.Now the butler ushered them back to the cart so they can head to the main house for lunch.

A sumptuous lunch was served in the 12-seater dining room. Butler Sol explained that the Choi couple liked having people over their place hence the big set up of the house. A hefty serving of ssangyumpsal, seafood platter, stew and stir fried vegetables were served to them.

“I need to exercise tonight. I will gain weight if I’ll eat like this while we’re here, Hyunjoong.” Hwangbo uttered when they were done eating.

“I’ll join you later. We can jog tonight, Buin." He replied.

The two head to their room after eating so they can a rest. Hyejung placed Jins in her carrier/bed and dropped her tired body on her bed when she heard a knock on the connecting door. She ignored it, knowing that he’ll let himself in anyway.

“Buin, let’s sleep for now. Wake me up when you want to go to the pool, okay?” Hyunjoong reminded her.

“Okay, now go. I’m soo sleepy.” She grumbled.

“Okay. See you later.” And he walked out of the room

“ Hyunjoong-ah.. Hyunjoong-aaah!” Hyejung gently wake him up. When the man didn't even flinch she climbed on the bed and called him again.

“Hyunjoong-ah, Hyunjoongah.” She paused and decided to change her tactic. She moved closer to him, her face inched near his ears and whispered. “Shillangggg... Shillanggg…”

Hyunjoong who was just actually faking sleep, smiled and turned to see her. But he didn’t expect what he saw.

“Yah! What the he--, what are you wearing, Buin!”  He exclaimed.

“Why are you shouting?” she asked in confusion. “I’m wearing my bikini because we’re going for a swim. What’s wrong with this?” And went down of the bed and walked back towards her room in her lemon yellow two piece bikini.

Hyunjoong abruptly stood up and run after her.

“Buin, you’re not going out like that. Look, we have staff around; they cant see you dressed that way.”  He explained.

Hyejung ignored him and went back to her room with Hyunjoong on her trail. Hyunjoong was about to say something when she turned and answered.

“See this?”  She asked- A pale green sarong on her hand. “I will wear this until we reached the pool so don’t freak out too much, okay?” she added.

Hyunjoong took a sigh of relief and smiled at her.

“Aisssh! Buin, you’re going to give me a heart attack. Just wait here for a minute. I’ll change so we can go.” And Hyejung just nodded.

After about ten minutes, they were on their way to the pool. Hyejung left Jins with one of the staff so they can enjoy the swim.  As they made their way, she can’t help but notice how manly Hyunjoong has become. He wore yellow board shorts and a black racer back which only highlighted his well maintained body.

“Like what you see?” Hyunjoong teased and gently nudged her. She just sneered and walk ahead of him towards the pool.

It’s almost four in the afternoon, not too hot to go for a dip. Hyejung left her sarong on the nearest lounge chair and dive on the pool. Hyunjoong followed her and they enjoy a few minutes of doing laps on their own.  After sometime Hyejung sat on the edge of the pool and rest. Hyunjoong saw her so he swam and sat beside her.

“You want some snacks, Buin?” He asked.

“That would be nice.” Hyejung replied with a smile.

“Alright. You can rest here. I’ll try to check if Butler Sol can send us some food.” And he stood to head back to the main house.

Hyunjoong was on his way back to the pool with a tray on his hand.  The staff offered to bring the food to them but he insisted that he’ll just bring it back with him.  He took a pitcher of lemonade with a small platter of macaroons to share with Hyejung.  He was almost by the pool when he heard Hyejung’s distinct laugh.

Hyejung was sitting on the lounge chair, the green sarong lightly draped on her body while laughing at something. Seeing this lovely woman made Hyunjoong smiled but almost dropped the tray when he noticed a figure sitting on the lounge chair in front of Hyejung.

“Buin!” he called out.

Hyejung was startled but smiled as soon as he came near her. Hyunjoong carefully placed the tray on the table between the lounge chair, made Hyejung scoot a bit and sat beside her.

“It’s nice to see you again, Atty. Park.” He greeted the man in front and let his arm rest on Hyejung’s shoulder.

Sorry for keeping this blog in private for a few days.I was a bit upset with something so I just took some time off to cool down.When I saw people on twitter asking me why my blog cant be accessed, I felt happy coz I know they're reading this and that made me feel guilty. Chapter 6


It was only half past six in the morning but Hyejung was already prepared. She woke up at around five and even if she tried hard to go back to sleep, she can’t. Her body and mind is already excited for the trip. With nothing else to do she prepared her small bag for the weekend. Since she still has enough time, she decided to make sandwiches so they’ll have something to eat on the way. Choi Estate is around an hour and a half drive from her place. Once done she just lounge on her living room, checking the net and her cyworld. Ten minutes to seven, she heard her phone ring and answered it promptly.

“Ok. I’ll come down now.” She replied with a smile. She then grabbed her small travel bags and rushed downstairs. She went to the parking area on the second floor and on the far right of the parking she saw his car on hazard. She walked towards it and head to the passenger seat.

“Good morning, Noona. Hope you packed your bags for the weekend.” Hyunjoong greeted her.

“Good morning, Hyunjoong-ah. I did and I have someone with me by the way. I hope you won’t mind.” She greeted back and showed him a small basket on her right hand.

“Jins! “ Hyunjoong exclaimed which startled the poor dog. He then reached his hands so Hwangbo handed the dog to him. “Jins-ah, you still remember me, right?”

“ Hyunjoong-ah, we better leave now. You can play with Jins later.” Hyejung gently ordered. Hyunjoong handed Jins back to her and started the car.

“Are you ready? All of your things in the back?” Hyunjoong asked. Hyejung nodded so they drive out of her apartment building.

“Hyunjoong-ah did you inform Atty Park that we’re coming over today?” Hyejung enquired.

“Yes I did. I told him that we might be staying the whole weekend. He said he’ll inform the housekeepers so they can prepare our rooms. He also gave me the direction on how we can reach the estate.” Hyunjoong replied.

“That’s good. Anyway, have you had your breakfast? “She asked. Hyunjoong shook his head so Hyejung carefully reached for her lunch box near her travel bag.

“Here” And offered a sandwich to Hyunjoong. “I was up early so I prepared some food. Take a bite so you won’t skip meal.”

“Thank you, Noona. I’m actually used to skipping breakfast and will just have lunch when I have work.” And he took a bite of the sandwich while keeping his eyes on the road.

“That’s not good for your health, Hyunjoonga-ah. Breakfast is the most important meal so you shouldn’t miss it.” She reminded him. Hyunjoong just smiled at her and tried to finish his food. They drove for a while in silence and then Hyunjoong noticed Hyejung stifle a yawn.

“Noona, you can sleep for the meantime. It’s still more than thirty minutes drive. I’ll wake you up once were there.”

“its okay, Hyunjoong-ah. I’ll keep you company.” Hyejung countered.

“You said you were up early. Doze off now so we can enjoy later. Don’t worry, I’m fine. I had a good sleep last night.”Hyunjoong prodded.

“Okay then. But wake me up if you’re starting to feel sleepy, okay?” she offered. Hyunjoong nodded so she arranged Jins who was fast asleep on her lap, look for a comfortable position and then closed her eyes. After ten minutes, she was also in slumber while Hyunjoong was driving steadily towards Choi Estate.

She was startled when she felt the car stopped. She gently opened her eyes and met Hyunjoong’s smiling face.

“Are we in Choi Estate, Shillang? “She unconsciously called out to him.

“We’re about to enter the estate. I stopped and was about to wake you up so you can have a good look at our place.” Hyunjoong replied.

Both smiled and Hyunjoong started the car and drove near the gate. He went down and punched in a code and the gates open. He went back to the car and entered the property.

“ Atty Park gave me the code so we can come in anytime we want. Though we can also call Butler Sol for assistance, I guess it’s better if we can do it ourselves, right?” Hyunjoong explained.

They were amazed at the beauty in front of them. A long stretch of Cherry Blossom tree lined the drive way. They can see the well maintained grassland and it took about five minutes before they reach the main house. Hyunjoong stopped the car in front of the main house, went down and helped Hyejung out. They were in awe of the three storey glass house. They walked towards the house and saw the staff waiting by the foyer.

“Welcome to Choi Estate, Hyunjoongssi, Hyejungssi. I’m Butler Sol. We’re happy to meet you.

“It’s nice to meet you Butler Sol. Hyejungssi and I will spend the weekend here. Kindly take care of us.” Hyunjoong greeted back.

“Your rooms are both ready but we also have set breakfast at the garden.” The couple nodded and Butler Sol led them to the garden. They went inside the main house and were lead to the garden thru the glass sliding door.

Hyejung and Hyunjong took a seat at the six seater garden set for their breakfast. The garden is so refreshing; a man made falls was tucked in the far right of the garden leading to a mini lagoon which housed several breeds of Kois. Since it’s almost autumn, the sun is up but the weather is a bit chilly. From a bit far, they saw a gazebo. Hyejung asked Hyunjoong if they can tour the house after breakfast to which he agreed. The two enjoyed their breakfast with the sound of the waterfalls and the chirping of the birds.

The couple finished eating at around nine in the morning. Since the weather is not that hot, the two asked Butler Sol to tour them around the estate. They first went inside the main house.

The glass house has ten rooms- five in the 1st floor and 5 in the second floor; the third floor serves as the attic. Each room has its own bathroom. The master’s bedroom is in the second floor and the butler advised them that they prepared the two rooms in the same floor for them to occupy. The house has big modern kitchen, the living room is cozy yet its housed state of the art entertainment system and the dining room is very classy. Butler Sol informed them that all furniture inside the house is from Choi Gallery. They went to the second floor so they can check their rooms. Hyunjoong’s room was the 1st room beside the master’s bedroom. It was spacious and very inviting. The walls were ash blue and a king size bed sat in the middle of the room. Hyunjoong checked the cabinets and the bathroom and he was very impressed. He was a bit surprised though when he saw a closed door near the cabinet so he asked Butler Sol.

“Oh, that’s a connecting door to Hyejungssi’s room. Pardon me, but we were actually not sure if we shall put you two in separate room. Just to be on the safe side and these rooms were actually bigger that the others we decided to give you these. Would the set up be okay?" The butler replied shyly.

“It’s fine with me. Noona, is it okay?” Hyunjoong enquired.

Hyejung smiled and replied. “It’s okay. No worries Butler Sol.”

“Then we can check your room now." Butler Sol replied with relieve.

Hyejung’s room is basically same with Hyunjoong’s except that the walls are in lilac. Her bags were also stowed in the cabinets and all she need is to unpack.

After checking all the rooms in the second floor, they went down and check the other rooms on the ground. The rooms are done tastefully and anyone who’ll stay in them will really be comfortable. Butler Sol informed them that in total there are fifteen household staff, they stay in the building at the back of the main house. Butler Sol asked them if they want to rest for a while before heading out for the tour. The couple agreed and told the butler that they’ll meet him after thirty minutes so they went up to their rooms.

Hyunjoong asked Hyejung to hand Jins over to him before they went to check their rooms. He then haphazardly placed his clothes in the cabinet so he can play with Jins. Hyunjoong let the puppy run around as he chased after her. After sometime, the puppy got tired so Hyunjoong head to the couch and let her rest. He was feeding her biscuits when he noticed that the other room was very silent. He then decided to check on Hyejung so he gently knocked on the connecting door. He knocked twice but she didn’t answer. Hyunjoong gently tried to open the door and was surprised that she didn’t lock it. He tiptoed to look for her and he can’t help but snigger when he saw her splayed on the bed sleeping peacefully. Her travel bag was beside her and she was even holding a sundress as she sleeps.

Hyunjoong soundlessly made his way and sat gently on her bed, careful not to wake her up. He took advantage of the chance to see her in this state. A mischievous smile was plastered on her face and he can’t help but wonder what she might be dreaming. He was deep in thought when she suddenly opens her eyes and said.

“Am I really that beautiful that you cannot help but gazed at me?”

“No, Buin. I just noticed that you really drool when you sleep.” Hyunjoong quipped.

Hyejung’s hands automatically moved to her face and tried to wipe what Hyunjoong was talking about. When she didn’t feel anything, she reached for her bag for a mirror and saw nothing. She turned to Hyunjoong and saw him laughing his heart out. She gently hit his shoulder but laugh with him.

“So, Noona, I was about to asked you if you’re ready but as I can see, your clothes are still in your bag and all you did was sleep. Aigoo! What happened to my ever reliable, walking tool back then?” Hyunjoong teased.

“Yah! I just took a nap and we still have time. I’ll just arrange this in the closet." Hyejung replied defensively. She hurriedly placed the clothes in the cabinet and asked Hyunjoong to get Jins so they can go out. Hyunjoong head to his room and picked up the sleeping dog. He again went to Hyejung’s room thru the connecting and saw her come out from the rest room.

“This connecting room is very convenient.” Hyunjoong blurted. Hyejung scoffed at him and together they head out of the room. They were on the way down, and saw Butler Sol wating for them. Suddenly, Hyejung stopped and turned to Hyunjoong.

“Hyunjoong-ah, I was a bit confused.” Hyejung uttered.

“What about, Noona?” he replied.

“You keep on calling me Noona, then Buin. What do you really want to call me, anyway?” Hyejung asked with pure mischief in her eyes.

Because I promised to update on my vacation, here's chapter 5 for all of you..enjoy!

Chapter 5

“Can we talk and discuss this with just the two of us Noona?” Hwangbo heard Hyunjoong whispered. She was taken aback, she stopped walking and replied.

“Huh?! Talk right now?” to which Hyunjoong nodded. Hwangbo paused for a while then turned to his manager. Her manager nodded and so she said okay to Hyunjoong.

“I’ll send her home Hyung, I have my car with me." Hyunjoong offered to Dongwon then he turned t his own manager and said “I’ll keep in touch, Hyung. I’m still officially on break anyway.”

The two managers just looked at each other and just nodded. Dongwon left with Hyunjoong’s manager after reminding Hyejung of the schedule the next day. 

“ Noona, would it be okay if we go for late lunch. I’m really hungry.” Hyunjoong asked.

“It’s okay. I also wasn't able to eat during the meeting.” Hyejung replied. “But where are we going? People and press might spot us and create issue.” She enquired.

“If it’s okay, were almost in Ilsan so we’ll just have lunch in Jaksal. Or would you rather dine in some fancy restaurant?” He offered.

“ Hyunjoong ssi , Jaksal would be fine. I don’t care where we eat as long as it’s good, tasty food.” Hyejung responded.

“Then I can guarantee that. Come on, I can eat a whole chicken right now.” Hyunjoong cheerfully replied and guided her out of the Café towards his car.

“How have you been, Noona?" Hyunjoong asked as soon as they were settled and driving on the way to Ilsan.

“I’m okay. Still have Muhan Girls and running Shimsontang. Nothing changed much." Hyejung simply answered. “ You’re very successful now, Hynjoong ssi. I heard about your album topping the chart and your airing drama is also doing well.” She added.

“You’re monitoring me, Noona?” Hyunjoong teased her.

Hwangbo scoffed and quipped “You’re just too famous. Everywhere I go, I see your face on advertisement. I see you on TV and hear you on the radio. How can I not know or heard of things about you.”

“I guess I've been lucky to be given these offers. That’s why I’m also working hard so I won’t disappoint those who trusted me.” He stated. “But I also saw you on a drama, Noona.” Hyunjoong enquired.

“Well, yeah. It’s just a small role but I enjoyed it." She answered.

Hyunjoong just smiled at her and they spend the last minutes of driving in comfortable silence. Then Hyunjoong parked at the reserved parking at the back of Jaksal. He assisted Hyejung out of the car and head to the restaurant’s office.

They made it to the office without a fuss. Hyunjoong let her took a seat and called one of the staff to bring them food inside. Hyunjoong asked her what she wants but Hyejung just told him to give her the house specialties. As they waited, Hyunjoong toured her in the office.

“This branch is being managed by my mother so you can see some of our family pictures here. She also visits here often." Hyunjoong explained.

“Your Mom’s very pretty, Hyunjoongssi.” She blurted.

“Yes she is. And she’s also cool. She allowed us to live our live the way we want it but she’s always there to guide us and help us out if needed. She’s my number one girl.” He fondly told Hyejung.

“Who’s your number one girl, Joongie?”  A voice from the door startled them both.

“Omma!" Hyunjoong called out and rush to the woman by the door. “Of course it’s you. The number one woman in my life.” and ushered her inside the room.

“ Noona, I’d like you to meet my Mom.” Hyunjoong introduced.

“Hello, Mrs. Kim. I’m Hwangbo Hyejung. I’m very pleased to meet you.”  Hyejung bowed and introduced herself.

“It’s nice to finally meet you Hwangbossi. My son only has good words for you." Hyunjoong’s mother replied. “ Hyunjoong-ah,you should have informed me she’s coming over so I could have prepared something special.”

“It’s actually unplanned, Omma. We just met up in a meeting, after it finished were both hungry so I asked her to come with me.” Hyunjoong explained.

“Well, I just wanted to know what makes you come here unannounced. I was on my way out when the staff told me you’re here. I need to go now.” His mom replied and then turned to Hyejung. “I hope you enjoy the food here Hyejungssi. I’m really happy to see you. I wished you can drop by again so we can chat longer”

“Thank you Mrs.Kim.  I know the food will be great.  It was nice meeting you. Be careful on your way.” And Hyejung bowed as Hyunjoong’s mom left.

The food arrived and the staff arranged it on the table. Hyejung was surprised with the food they served.

“Yah! Hyunjoong-ah, it’s just the two of us. How can we finish everything? This is good for ten people already.”

“Its okay, Noona. We can finish them all. And you forgot to speak formally to me. Should I call you Hyejung-ah?” Hyunjoong teased.

“No. I’m still older that you. I’m still your Noona.” She retort.

“I understand Sunbaenim.” He replied with a grin. Hyejung frown at him but Hyunjoong playfully snatched the chopsticks from her hand. She tried to reach for it and only when she smiled at him did he gave it back to her.  Hyejung can’t help but laugh at his antics making the atmosphere livelier as they started eating.

“ Hwangbuin, I mean..Noona..What do you think about the property? Should we really accept them?” Hyunjoong asked.

“I’m still not sure on what to do. This is not an easy thing. Half of the shares of Choi’s business are ours. We have to be very careful.” Hwangbo replied.

“I just never realized we have such great effect. That people will love us just like the Choi couple. I joined the show for exposure; I had a great time being your husband. I just never thought that we’d touch people’s lives.” Hyunjoong expressed.

“Me too. I knew we were quite popular then, but someone giving us inheritance is overwhelming. I need to discuss this and seek advice from my agency. I don’t want to make any hasty decision.” Hyejung replied.

“And remember, our decision should always be mutual. That’s the clause of the will. Whatever decision we have to make should be agreed by both of us or else it won’t be honored. I will also discuss this with Key East.”He added.

“We can take our time. It’s a big decision so we should think carefully. This could change our lives.” Hyejung uttered. Just after that, her phone rang. She excused herself and answered the phone.

“ Omma, yes I will. I’ll be there in an hour. Okay, see you Omma.”

“I assume you have to leave now?”  Hyunjoong expressed.

“Yes. I promised my parents that I’ll visit them. They’re expecting me today.” Hyejung replied.

“Would you like me to drive you there?” he offered.

“I still need to get my things at my place."She stated.

“Okay, shall we go now?” Hyunjoong asked. Hyejung nodded so they stood up and tidy the office. Hyunjoong ushered her back to his car and they drove in silence on the way to her place.

They reached her home after fifteen minutes. Hwangbo thanked Hyunjoong and was about to alight the car when he called her again.

“It’s nice seeing you again, Noona. Being with you is really refreshing.”

“I had fun today, Hyunjoong-ah. I thought it’ll be awkward since we haven’t seen each other for so long. I’m glad it turned out, okay.” Hyejung responded.

“Noona, can we go and visit Choi Estate this weekend? I mean it would be better if we can look at the place and see it for ourselves, right?” Hyunjoong asked all of a sudden. 

Hyejung just stared at him, making him a bit anxious.

“Okay. I’m free this weekend. I will just tell Atty. Park that we’ll be coming over.” Hyejung replied with a smile.

“I will contact him. I’ll see you in two days. It’s better if you bring some clothes. Who knows we might enjoy the place and spend the entire weekend there? I’ll pick you up Saturday at seven in the morning, okay?”  Hyunjoong articulated. Hyejung nodded and then went down of the car with a smile on her face.

Chapter 4

“What! You got to be kidding, Atty.Park!” Hwangbo exclaimed. “Why would he leave his property to us? We didn’t know him or his wife. We don’t have any idea with his business.”

“There must be a mistake somewhere. Maybe you’re referring to someone else. My name is very common.” Hyunjoong seconded.

“Hyunjoongsssi, Hwangbo ssi, before we asked for this meeting, we have exhausted all efforts to check the details of the will so we are very sure that Uncle meant to leave these to you two. Honestly, I asked Uncle Mirin about it when he handed me the papers but he just told me that I have to ensure that this will be followed.”  Myungsoo explained.

“Is it legally possible? I mean we’re not related in anyway?” Hyunjoong asked again.

“Yes. He doesn’t have any other immediate relatives and he particularly identified you as beneficiaries.” Jay expounded.

“But it just doesn’t make sense!” Hwangbo uttered, still baffled with the information.

“Hyunjoongssi, Hwangbossi, I know it’s a shock but I have here another envelop that Uncle asked me to open only when it’s time to read the will.  He said that this will explain everything.”  Myungsoo stated. When Hyunjoong and Hwangbo nodded, he then opened the sealed envelope.  He found a cd so he set up the projector so they can watch. The all settle down when the video started playing.

“Hello everyone. How have you been? You’re seeing me now in this video, so it only means one thing. I’m now with my beloved wife- Hera.

Myungsoo-ah, thank you for being a good son to us. I’m very grateful to your Dad and Mom for sharing you to us. Though we never had a child of our own, having you around made it easy. You show us respect, care and love. We will always be thankful to you and our family.

As you have read, fifty percent of the shares for Choi Gallery will be left to you as well as our other properties. That’s all enumerated on my will. I am very sure that you will do everything to keep our business stable and growing. You know how Hera and I worked so hard to keep the business and with your capabilities, you’ll do better than us.

Myungsoo-ah, I pray that you will find a wife who truly deserves you. You are a wonderful person and I know, whoever you choose will be lucky. Now since I will not be there to attend your wedding and meet her, take our gift for the both of you. A villa in Nami Island will be yours as our wedding gift.  I don’t know if you noticed but it’s indicated on the will. I pray to God that he will bless you with a happy family just like what your father and I have been blessed with. Thank you for everything Myungsoo. Your Aunt Hera and I will always be grateful to you.

Hyungjoongssi, Hwangbossi, how are you? I know it must have been a shock hearing this right? Maybe, you’re thinking what kind of joke; this old senile man has put you into? Hyunjoongssi, Hwangbossi, I hope you will find in your heart to accept this gift. This is a token of appreciation for all the help you have done for my wife- Hera. You see five years ago, my wife was a diagnosed with advance stage of blood cancer. She underwent series of treatment and chemo therapy. The ordeal was very hard, physically and emotionally for both of us.  The doctor didn't give us much hope then, he said that the cancer spreads fast and the treatment will only prolong her stay but it will not totally cure her. We were both devastated, I almost cursed God for my wife’s disease but Hera stayed strong. She said she’ll try the treatment so that she can stay with me for a longer period. She said it’s better for us enjoy the rest of our days together, fighting, loving life than giving up. So even if my heart was breaking, I stayed beside her in every treatment, holding her hand and just letting her feel loved.

Then one night, after her 2^nd session of chemotherapy, she was able to catch your show. She was so engrossed in watching, she was even laughing when Hyunjoongssi asked Hwangbossi to redesign the couple shirt. She was so hyped up that night and that was the first time I saw her really happy after we found about her condition. After that Sunday, she never failed to watch your shows. There was one time that she has to be admitted in the hospital, she can’t watch the TV since she’s still dizzy from the treatment. She cried when she woke up and found out that the episode’s over. I assured her that she can still watch since I have recorded the episode for her.  She became your number one fan; always talking about you two and she always look forward to watching your show. It’s like you’ve been part of our family, everyone in our household knows you.  And for me, you’ve been heaven sent. I love my wife, so much and I’d do anything to keep her happy. You’ve became one of her source of happiness and I can’t thank you enough for that. When she watched the episode when you visited an elder, she asked me if it’s possible to ask MBC so you can visit her too because she’s already bedridden that time. I told her I’d go to your company and asked but then she changed her mind. She doesn’t want you to see her like that. She said she’ll try to get well first then we’ll be the one to visit you. I promised her that we’ll surely go and visit you when she feels better.

Can you imagine my wife’s reaction on your farewell episode? I’m telling you, it broke my heart that I can’t do anything. She cried for days after your farewell and it’s no exaggeration.  I just tried to console her. She just kept on asking me why you two have to part when you two are so right for each other. I just told her that it’s a make believe show and we already knew that it will have to end sometime. She just can’t seem to accept it.  She just keeps on replaying all your episodes except for the farewell.

When her conditions worsen, she asked me to make a promise which I of course accepted. She asked me to make sure that Hyunjoongssi and Hwangbossi will know how much you both mean to her. Even though I’m not sure how to make it happen, I promised her that I would. When she passed away, I never forgot about my promise but I was caught up with problems with the business. When things settled down, then I found out about my condition. From then on, I tried a lot of things to see you both but I guess luck was not on my side. I promise though, that if I can’t fulfill it when I’m still here, I’ll make sure to find away even if I’m already gone.

Hyunjoongssi, Hwangbossi, I would like to thank you for giving happiness and inspiration to my wife. We spend a lot of times happily talking about you. Somehow by watching you, it made her situation bearable. She passed away believing that you two are meant for each other and that what you have is a different kind of love.

Please accept our gift to both of you. All we ask is for you to love the Choi Estate. I’m very sure that Myungsoo will be glad to assist you if you have other concerns. Live happily and have a good life.

When the video ended it took a while before anyone can utter a world. Hwangbo cleared her throat and turned to Myungsoo.

“ Mr.Choi must have really love her wife too much. I can’t believe that they’re giving us their property because they loved us in that show.”

“Hwangbossi, Uncle Mirin loved no other woman but Aunt Hera. When she passed away, we were scared that he’ll decide to end his life too. But I guess he hold on because of his promise.”

“Myungsoo ssi, I’ am not yet sure if I’ll accept but I’d like to know the details of the will.” Hyunjoong interjected.

“Hyunjoongssi, Hwangbossi, if you’re both ready we’ll proceed in reading the will?” Jay answered Hyunjoong.  Hyunjoong and Hwangbo nodded so Jay began the formal reading.

After about thirty minutes, Jay finished reading the will. Hyunjoong and Hwangbo just took a deep breath still unsure of everything.

“ Hyunjoongssi, Hwangbo ssi, we will provide you with the copies of the will. We know that you’re both too shock to decide on so we’ll give you time. Just let us know if you need any help.” Jay offered.

“I know that it’s a bit too much to take for both of you but all we can advise is to have an open mind. The properties are yours and you can take your time in deciding on what to do with it. You may also want to let your company see it and ask for advice. Anytime you need just don’t hesitate to give us a call. “ Myungsoo added.

The two just nodded then bid farewell to the lawyers. On the way out, Hyunjoong walked beside Hwangbo and whispered.

“ Can we talk and discuss this with just the two of us Noona?"

hello guys..how are you? I've been very busy so got no time to update.good thing things are a lil bit steady now so got the time to write.Here's chapter 3.I hope its not boring and will really appreciate feedback from you.. til next time!

Chapter 3

Myungsoo drove towards the hospital in full speed. He already treated Minri as his father and knowing that he was sent to the hospital worried him too much. As soon as he arrived in the hospital he went to the information and asked for Minri’s room.  He rushed towards one of the presidential suite and saw his father, stoically sitting on one of the couches. His mother sitting beside his father, her hands on top of his as they both watched the doctors checking their friend. When the doctor saw Myungsoo, he walked towards him and asked him to follow him to his office. Myungsoo placate his parents and then head on to the doctor’s office.

“Myungsoo-ah, I’ll be honest with you. Minri’s in a critical condition. We were actually planning to have him undergo heart bypass early last year but he refused. He doesn’t want to undergo any operation. That’s why he is in constant medication but as you know, it’s not a solution."Dr. Lee explained

“He didn’t inform us about it...”  Myungsoo replied.

“It was almost the same time when your father was hospitalized. He doesn’t want to add to your worries. He asked me to keep this between us and let him live his last days as normal as possible. Now his heart is so weak that operation’s not possible anymore.” The doctor added.

“So what are your plans doctor?”  Myungsoo enquired.

“We don’t have much choice Myungsoo. We can administer medication but it won’t be enough. I hate to say this but Minri’s chance of survival is very slim.” Dr. Lee said with empathy.

“Just do whatever you can, Dr. Lee. I will check on Uncle Mirin, first.”  Myungsoo bowed and head to Minri’s room heavy hearted.

He was surprised to find Mirin talking to his father when he arrived at his room. He called on to him so he walked towards his bedside.

“Uncle Mirin, you should be sleeping. Don’t tire yourself out.” and he gently assisted him so we can lie back on the bed.

“Myungsoo-ah, you worry too much. Your Dad and I are still reminiscing our days back in high school.” Mirin fondly explained to Myungsoo.

“It’s okay Mirin. We’ll just visit you again tomorrow. Beka and I need to go home now. Myungsoo will be here to stay with you.” Kahi replied.

“Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow, Kahi, Beka. And bring our old pictures with you so we can look back at our olden days. “Mirin replied with excitement.

“Uncle, I’ll just send Mom and Dad to their car. I’ll be back, okay?” Myungsoo asked and assisted his parents on their way out. He went back as soon as his parent left the hospital. 

He saw Mirin, again sitting on the bed when he came in.

“Uncle, its better if you will just lie down. Doctor Lee advised that you should be resting a lot. “Myungsoo prodded. Mirin just smiled and motion for him to sit by his bedside.

“Myungsoo-ah, you know I treated you like a son ever since. You have been very responsible not only to your parents but to Hera and me. I don’t want you to feel that I value you less when I didn’t leave all my properties to you. I have made a promise to Hera and that I have to fulfill. I hope that you will understand.”  Mirin explained.

“Uncle Mirin, I don’t care about the inheritance I can get from you.  It’s all yours and whatever or whoever will get it, I will respect. “Myungsoo sincerely replied. “ Now, Uncle better go to sleep so you’ll be fine tomorrow.”

“Thank you for being here Myungsoo. I’m so happy that Kahi has a son like you. I hope you’ll find a wife who’ll be as wonderful as you are.” Mirin uttered.

“I hope so too, Uncle and you have to be there at my wedding so you need to get better, okay.” Myungsoo responded.

Mirin just nodded his and smiled at him. Myungsoo fixed the blanket and when he saw that he’s already settled, he went to the couch to take a rest. He was dozing off when suddenly the heart monitor beeped. Myungsoo rushed out of the room and call for help.

Hwangbo was busy preparing for the taping of Muhan girls when her manager approached her.

“Hyejung-ah, I got a call from a lawyer- a certain Atty.Park Kahi. Do you know who he is?”

“No, I don’t know him. “ Hyejung quickly replied.

“Well, he requested for us to meet him tomorrow and told us that it’s very important. Since you don’t have schedule tomorrow, I agreed to meet up with him. We set the meeting in “Café Amore” at around eleven. Would that be okay or should we reschedule?”

“Its okay, Oppa. I’ll visit my parents in the evening so it’s just fine.” She concurred.

“Okay. I’ll confirm with Atty.Park.  Jungie-ah, is there something I should now about?”  Asked Dong Won.

“I really have no idea, Oppa.I just wish it’s something good like maybe a project, right?” Hwangbo replied. Her manager nodded and then left so she can finish preparing for the filming.

Hyunjoong on the other hand, has finished filming his drama. Yesterday was the last filming day, they finished earlier than expected. He was just lounging on his couch, while reading his favorite manga books when his phone rang.

“Hyung, it’s officially my day off and I plan just to stay at home. Please don’t tell me I need to go somewhere.” Hyunjoong ranted.

“Yah, Hyunjoong-ah, sorry for disturbing you’re free day. I would just like to ask if it’s okay to meet up with Atty. Park tomorrow, say around eleven in the morning?” his manager answered.

“Who is Atty Park, Hyung. Does the management knows about this?” he asked back.

“He said it’s something important and he needs to speak with you directly. Hyunjoong-ah, do you remember anything that may cause this meeting?”  His manager asked in suspicion.

“Hyung, I haven’t done anything for the law to come after me. I don’t even know Atty. Park.” He clarified.

“Well then, let’s meet up with him tomorrow. If I think that we need to inform the management, we’ll do so after the meeting. I’ll just drop by around 10:30 then we’ll go straight to Café Amore.” His manager added.

“Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow.” Hyunjoong bid goodbye and continue reading.

The next day, Myungsoo and Jay were talking and waiting when the former saw a woman by the door of the restaurant. A man was with her and Myungsoo can’t help but just to stare at her as she walked. He was a bit surprised when the maitre d’ lead them to their table. He stood up and introduced himself.

“I’m Atty. Park Myungsoo and this is Atty Song Jay. Mr Won, I pressume?” and bow before the man.

“Hello Atty Park, yes I’m Mr. Dong Won and this is Ms Hwangbo Hyejung.”  Dong Won introduced so Hyejung stepped forward and greeted the two lawyers.

“Come on take a seat as we wait for the other party. I have reserved a meeting room here so we can discuss privately. “Myungsoo offered.

“Myungsso-ssi, you said we are still waiting for another party? Would you mind if I asked who are they?” Hwangbo curiously asked.

Myungsoo was about to answer when he noticed two men walking towards them. He just smiled at Hwangbo and replied.

“ I guess its them walking towards us, Hwangbossi.” And Myungsso stood up to greet the new comers. Hwangbo turned to check and was surprised to see the other party.

“Shillang! Errr... I mean, Hyungjoong ssi.” Hwangbo blurted.

Hyunjoong was also taken a back. After four years, this is the first time that he has been face to face with his ex-wife.

“She didn’t change. She’s still as beautiful as ever.” He thought to himself. He then bowed to her and greet.

“Hello, Hyejung Noona. Nice to see you again.  Hello, Dong Won Hyungnim.”

Hyunjoong’s manager then turned and greeted the lawyers. Hyunjoong bowed and greeted them as well.

Once they all finished exchanging greetings, Myungsoo ushered them to the meeting room

“Good morning everyone. Again, I’m Atty Park Kahi, representing Choi Galleries. With me here is Lawyer Song, representing the same company. Sorry for the short notice and for not giving out details of this request. We will get to that later on. Let me just ask first, Hwangbossi, do you personally know Mr Choi Mirin or Choi Hera?”  And hand them the couple’s picture.

Hwangbo think for a while and then replied. “No, I don’t know them.”

Myungsoo then turned to Hyunjoong, “What about you, Hyunjoongssi, have you met the couple before?”

“No. I haven’t met them. This is the first time I’ve heard or seen them. “Hyunjoong immediately replied.

Jay interjected and asked. “Are you both sure?  This couple seems to know you very well.”

Hyunjoong and Hwangbo both confirmed. Myungsoo and Jay shook their head in disbelief.

Hyunjoong is now a bit confused on the lawyers’ reaction and can’t help but asked.

“Lawyer Park, Lawyer Song, I hope you don’t mind but can I ask why we are here? Hyejungssi and I confirmed that we are not related to the Choi couple. “

“I considered the Choi couple as my second parents. Aunt Hera passed away four years ago and Uncle Mirin just last week.” Myungsoo replied.

Hyunjoong apologized for his earlier remark.  Myungsoo just smiled and continued.

“You see Hyunjoongssi, Hyejungssi, Uncle Mirin owned Choi Galleries, Choi Estate and a lot of other properties. And since both passed away, Uncle’s last will need to be read.”

Hwangbo then replied.” He left it all to you, right?”

“Only half of it but I was asked to still run his business.”  Myungsoo retort.

“Oh, and what about the half?”  She curiously asked again.

“Well, half of the share for Choi’s Gallery and the whole Choi Estate was left to both of you, Hyejungssi and Hyunjoongssi.” Myungsoo stated nonchalantly leaving Hyunjoong and Hwangbo flabbergasted.
