Chapter  13

Hyunjoong and Myungsoo eyed each other from across the room. Hyejung sensed the tensed atmosphere and gently extricate her hands from Hyunjoong’s and walked back to the living room. The men followed her and she placated them on opposite side of the couch.

“I’m quite surprise to see you here Atty. Park. Do we have problems in Choi Galleries?”  Hyunjoong broke the silence.

“I just came to visit Hyejung. Everything’s okay, don’t worry.” Myungsoo quipped.

“Why do you have to visit her? Is she sick?”  Hyunjoong asked sarcastically. Then he moved a bit to reached Hyejung and held her hand. “Are you sick, Buin? You look alright to me.”

“No, I’m okay, Hyunjoong” she replied with a glare. “I’ll get you something to drink." And made her way to the kitchen but gave Hyunjoong another reprimanding look.

“Tell me honestly, Myungsoo-ssi, what are you doing here?”  Hyunjoong asked as soon as Hyejung’s out of sight.

“Just like what I told you earlier, Hyunjoong-ssi, I’m visiting, Hyejung-ssi.” The lawyer simply replied.

“Why?" He asked backed.

“Do I really need to state the obvious? Normally, why does single man visit a single woman?” Myungsoo retorts.

“I see. But Myungsoo-ssi, do you know why a man calls a woman, Buin?" Hyunjoong reacted with a smirk. He really can’t believe that the lawyer is making a move on Hyejung.

“But you’re not together. It was a make believe show.  Look, Hyunjoong-ssi, if she told me that you’re in a relationship, I would step back and let it be. I won’t be insisting myself. But since she is not in a relationship with you, I will try my best to win her heart.” Myungsoo declared.

Before Hyunjoong can say his piece, Hyejung walked in with a tray of cakes and iced tea.

“Hyunjoong, here’s your drink. Try this cake too.” And hand him a plate of Oreo cheese cake. “Here’s one for you too, Atty.Park.”

The two men murmured their thank you’s and silently enjoyed the snack. Hyejung watch as the two gawked warily at each other.

“Hyunjoong-ah how’s the shoot in China? When did you arrive?” she asked to break the silence.

“It was okay. It was cold and we did our best to finish early. I arrived an hour ago and went straight here coz I miss you.” Hyunjoong replied with a smile.

Hyejung became uncomfortable with Hyunjoong’s declaration so she tried to change the topic.

“When will the special air?"he asked the idol.

“Pre -new year special so it’s on December 31.” He answered with a smile. Hyejung nodded and turned to Myungsoo. “He went to China to film a special for his drama.”  And Myungsoo just nodded as acknowledgement.

“So, Hyejung-ssi, what do you think about the play?  Can you go out with me then?" Myungsoo asked.

“What play, Buin?” Hyunjoong enquired with a scowl on his face.

“I asked Hyejungssi if she wanted to come and watch Legally Blonde with me.” Myungsoo replied for Hyejung.

“I’m still going to check my schedule Myungsoo-ssi. I’ll let you know once I confirm with my manager. Would that be okay?”  Hyejung answered.

“Okay, no problem. I hope you can make it. I’m sure we’ll enjoy the show.”  The lawyer agreed, a hopeful smile plastered on his face. Hyunjoong on the other hand started sulking. Just then, Myungsoo’s phone rang. He excused himself to answer the phone.

“You’re not coming with him, right?” Hyunjoong uttered while brooding.

“Huh? To the play? I’m not yet sure. I’d love to see Legally Blonde on stage but I still need to check my schedule.” Hyejung simply replied making Hyunjoong sulk all the more.

Myungsoo walked back to the living room but didn’t go back to his seat. He just told Hyejung that he needed to go since Atty Jay Song needs to talk to him.  Hyejung stood up and see him to the door. When she got back, Hyunjoong was just sitting coldly so she decided to sit beside him.

“You could have told me you want to watch that play. I would have bought tickets to the gala show.” He said as soon as she took a seat.

“I was a bit busy too so I forgot about it. Only when Myungsoo-ssi mentioned it that I realized."She explained.

“What if you’re free, are you going to accept his invite?” he asked again.

“Hmmm. Would you get angry if I will?” Hyejung asked with a mischievous grin.

“Of course I will. But you know Buin, I realized one thing.”  He replied and then took a deep breath. “You are a wonderful woman and a lot of men will want to be with you. If I want to be your Shillang then I need to prove myself. I will not just sit down and sulk and wait for you to notice me. I will have to compete with all the other guys.”  Hyunjoong declared.

“Other guys? You mean Myungsoo-ssi?" She asked again.

“Yes, Myungsoo-ssi and a lot more. I’m sure you have a lot of admirers." Hyunjoong replied.

“So if I accepted his invitation, it would be okay?”  Hyejung tried to confirm.

“It’s not okay but I won’t stop you.” He answered with a sigh. “I just have to work harder now. Atty Park is not an easy opponent. “And took another sigh but smiled at Hyejung.

“Is that really you Hyunjoong-ah? No more sulking? “She asked teasingly.

“I’ve mature Buin. I want you to realize what a cool guy, I am.” He replied proudly.

“Okay then. If you say so. Now, what did you bring for me from China? “Hyejung asked affectionately.

“Wait, I’ll get it. I left it on your doorstep.” He sheepishly answered and run towards the door. He was catching his breath when he sat beside Hyejung and handed her a big box.

“I hope you will like it. I got this on the first night we had free time.”  Hyunjoong told her and she tried to open the box.

It’s a lovely china tea set.

“This is lovely, Hyunjoong-ah. Thank you!” and reached out to give him a hug.

Hyunjoong wrapped his arms around her tightly. “Goodness! I really miss you, Buin.” He blurted. Hyejung chuckled so Hyunjoong gently released her but he took her hand and hold on it.

“Do you have schedule tomorrow, Buin? “He asked.

“Yes. Oppa will pick me up at eight in the morning for a taping. I will guest in Star King.” She replied.

“Then I’d better leave now and let you rest. Come see me to the door, please.”  Hyunjoong uttered tenderly so Hyejung stood up as well. They walk to the door, Hyunjoong still holding her hand.

“Thank you for the gift, Hyunjoong-ah. Go get some rest. I’ll see you soon.”  Hyejung bid goodnight.

“Good night, Buin. See you soon.” And hugged her once again before closing her door.

Hyejung woke up at around six the morning the next day and began preparing for the shoot. She was done at half past seven and texted her manager. He informed her that he’s not feeling well but someone will pick her up. He told her to wait by the lobby because he’s already on his way. Hwangbo went down ten minutes after her call and saw a black Cayenne on hazard. Since it’s not her manager’s car she just ignored it. She was startled when it honked and the windows slightly rolled down. She gasped when she saw who’s on the driver’s seat. She run towards the car and got in quickly.

“Good morning, Buin. I will drive you to your shoot today.”  He greeted her with his mega watt smile.

“Good morning, Hyunjoong-ah. You don’t have schedule? She greeted back.

“I’m all yours today Buin. Don’t worry your manager’s not sick. I just asked him if I can pick you up and he agreed with me.” He explained.

“Oh, okay. You seem to be friends with my manager.” She replied.

“I promised to introduce him to my coordi noona.” Hyunjoong confessed and the couple‘s laughter filled the car.

“Hyunjoong-ah, where will you stay while we film?” Hyejung asked.

“I’ll stay in your dressing room. Don’t worry your manager ensured that you’ll have the room for yourself. “He replied. Hyejung just nodded thinking that her manager and Hyunjoong planned it all.

When they arrived in SBS, Hyejung quickly got out of the car. Hyunjoong will try to sneak to her dressing room once they started filming. She reminded him to be extra careful so no one will see him. Hyejung was worried the whole shoot but she tried to act cool so that no one will notice. When the shoots over she hurriedly rush to her dressing room and locked it just so that no one will barge in. She was astonished at what she saw.

Hyunjoong set up a mini picnic. He was sitting on plaid linen, a wicker basket beside him, sandwiches and drinks ready for her. He urged her to take a seat and together they enjoyed the quick snack.

“Buin, we still have somewhere to go. I will wait for you in the car. “He told her as he packed everything in his bag. He then stealthily walked out of Hwangbo’s dressing room and she followed him after ten minutes.

They were on the road when Hyejung asked where they were heading. Hyunjoong simply smiled at her and told her that they’re heading to his place for a movie marathon.

“I know you don’t have any schedule after Star King. Let’s just enjoy this day, Buin.” He cajoled as they made their way to his apartment. Hyejung just nodded. Who can resist Hyunjoong’s aegyo?

And at eight in the evening, Hyunjoong sent her back to her place- Both with a contented smile on their face and Hyejung waving at him till she can see his car no more.

Hello guys.  I'm back with a new chapter.A lot of things made me happy today so I'm sharing happiness with you..lol..leave me some love for faster update..

Chapter 12

It was already two in the morning but sleep has been elusive for Hyejung. She kept on tossing and turning and can’t believe what transpired earlier. First was Atty Park Myungsoo’s confession during dinner and then Hyunjoong dropping by and also made his feeling known. It’s really flattering to receive such proposals but a bit overwhelming. Atty Park is really someone you can be proud of; he’s smart, good looking, with good education and family background. Hyunjoong on the other hand, a famous idol, sexy, handsome and with good personality. Being her make believe husband four years ago, she got to see his true character.  

She decided to get up and went to her kitchen to get a glass of milk. With a glass in hand, she went to the living room and got something from the cabinet. She slumped on the couch and let the time pass as she flipped thru each page and reminisce till she fell asleep with a smile on her face. It’s been four years but it always brought her a calming effect and lulls her to sleep –watching her and Hyunjoong’s wedding pictures from We got married.

She was in deep slumber when the incessant ringing of her phone woke her up. With her eyes close and not bothering to check who the caller is, she grumpily answered the phone.

“Hwangbo-yah? Are you still sleeping? It’s already past nine and we have to be in the set by ten in the morning.” Her manager asked.

“Huh!” she exclaimed and automatically stood up. “Give me ten minutes, sorry, Oppa. I’ll be ready soon.” And frantically made her way to shower as soon as her manager hung up. She took a very quick shower, grabbed her bag and hurriedly locked her apartment to meet her manager who’s waiting for her.

“Hyejung-ah, did you not sleep well? The makeup artist will have a hard time concealing those dark circles on your eyes.” Her manager asked as soon as she settled on her seat and they were driving off to the shoot.

“I’m sorry for being late, Oppa. It was just one of those nights. I went to bed at eleven but sleep won’t come.” She explained.

“It’s okay, we can still make it on time. This is just the first time that you’re not yet ready when I come to pick you up.” He replied with a smile.

Hyejung just gave a timid smile and nod. They drove in silence and reached the location shoot in fifteen minutes. She made her way to the dressing room just when her phone rang.

“Good morning, Buin.” Hyunjoong greeted her.

“Hyunjoong-ah, hello. Why did you call?” She replied.

“My promised two calls a day. I will call you later once we arrived in China. We’re on our way to the airport.” He answered in a matter of fact tone.

“I thought you will leave by the end of the week?” she asked again.

“My management decided to leave earlier than schedule.  Since Yumi Noona is also free we will just have to shoo t early and be back early.” Hyunjoong explained.

“Ah, okay. Just take care, okay. Have to hang up now so I can prepare.” She bid him goodbye.

“Okay. Enjoy your day, Buin. Wait for my call later.” And he hangs up before she can make a reply.

Hyejung let out an impish smile as she walked towards the dressing room. She was welcome by knowing smiles of Boram, Song Eunniie and Shin BongSun. She dropped her bag on an empty table sat, on the chair and waited for the makeup artist. She can see the three girls mouthing words to each other thru the mirror. Just then she saw Song Eunnie approaching her.

“Hyejung-ah, do you have something to tell us?” she started.

“Huh? Nothing. What do you mean? “Hyejung replied a bit puzzled.

Boram and Shin Bong Sun walked towards her and handed her bouquet of flowers.

“Mind telling us who send you these lovely flowers?” Boram teased as Hyejung read the card.

“It’s from Atty. Park." She simply replied.

“Wait. Who is he? How did you meet him? Are you two together?” Shin Bong Sun blabbered.

Hyejung took a deep breath before she answered.

“Promise not to tell anyone else, okay?”  She continued when she saw the girls nod.

“Atty.Park Myungsoo is the executor for Choi Properties. We met him weeks ago since Choi Estate and fifty percent of the Choi Galleries were left to us.”

“Who’s we and how come you inherited those?” Song Eunnie butt in.

“The Choi couple- Choi Mirin and Choi Hera were our fan from We got married. Choi Hera was sick and passed away after the show. Just recently Choi Mirin passed away but he made a promise to his wife that he would let us know how we have helped his wife when she was sick. Mirin-ssi left the properties to us- meaning Hyunjoong and me.  We’ve stayed in Choi Estate one weekend and just yesterday we went to Choi Galleries to meet the staff.” 

“So you mean you and Hyunjoong met each other again? And now Atty Park is interested in you?” Boram enquired.

“Yes. It’s nice to see my ex Shillang again. Now with Atty Park, he confessed just yesterday.”Hyejung answered with a blush.

Just then they heard a knock on the dressing room and someone hollered that they need to be in the set in five minutes. The girls scampered and left the dressing room.

“Yah, you are so lucky Hyejung-ah. You just inherited an estate and some properties, now you got Atty Park interested in you.” Song Eunnie whispered as they walked towards the set.

“God is giving you so much favor. I envy you, Jungie.” Boram whined.

“Girls, you promise not to tell anyone, okay.” Hyejung reminded them just before they step into the set. The three girls affirmed and they proceed with the episode shoot.

It was already seven in the evening and the shoots over. Hwangbo is in the dressing room trying to pack her bags when her phone rang. She answered it immediately and was surprised to hear Hyunjoong on the other line.

“Hyunjoong-ah? You called again?”  She whispered.

“I told you I will. So how was your today, Buin? You missed me?” he teased.

“We’re done with the shoot and Im just waiting for Oppa so he can drop me off. You’re already in China?”  She replied.

“We arrived about four hours ago. We took couple of photos but we’ll just resume tomorrow. They gave us free time today I will just sleep.” Hyunjoong answered.

“Okay, Good. Oppa’s coming now so I have to hang up. Just take care and don’t forget to eat.” She reminded him.

“Talk to you tomorrow, Buin. I miss you and see you soon.” Hyunjoong uttered.

“See you soon, Hyunjoong-ah.” She bid goodbye. When she heard the phone click only then did she whisper. “I miss you too.” And walked towards her manager.

When Hyejung arrived, a big basket of yellow tulips stood in front of her door. She picked it up and checked the card.

“I’ll be back soon. Please wait for me.” Shillang xoxo

She smiled at the note. She’s really surprised with the change in Hyunjoong. Her once indifferent Shillang is now a walking love song- so mushy and romantic.

Time passed quickly by. It’s been a week since Hyunjoong left. Every day he never failed to call her two times and she would always find a fresh bouquet of tulips on her door every day.  On the other hand, Atty Park also sends her roses every day. He also called to ask her out but since she has schedule, she declined his invitation. He then just sent her food the next day.

Hyejung stayed at home since it’s her free day.  She was busy checking her stocks of food in the pantry when she heard the doorbell. She checked the intercom and was surprised to see Atty Park on the other side of the door. She unlocked the door and let him in.

“Good evening Hyejungssi. I hope I’m not disturbing you.” Park Myungsoo greeted.

“Good evening Myungsoo-ssi. It’s okay.  Come take a seat. Just a minute, I’ll get you something to drink.”  And she went to her kitchen and get some iced tea.

When she came back, Myungsoo was looking at the framed pictures on her wall.

“Have a drink Myungsoo-ssi." Hyejung offered.

The lawyer sat down and gave her a bouquet of roses. She accepted it and just smiled.

“I wonder how you got my address Myungsoo-ssi.” Hyejung asked.

“I got your address when we had you checked for the will. Sorry if this might make you uncomfortable.” He explained.

“It’s okay. I understand. You only have Choi Properties welfare in mind.” She replied. “By the way, thank you for the flowers and the food you sent last the last time.”

“It’s nothing Hyejung-ssi. By the way, Hyejung-ssi my friend gave me tickets for the coming theater play of Legally Blonde. I wonder if you have time and watch it with me.” Myungsoo replied.

“Myungsoo-ssi, I have something to tell you. You see, I’am...” and Hyejung was cut with the shrill ringing of the doorbell. She excused herself and stood up to open the door.

She checked the intercom and was surprised to see the person on the other side. She gently opens the door and was startled when he pulled her and wrapped his arms around her.

“I miss you Buin. It’s so good to be back.” He whispered.

“Hyejungssi, are you okay in...Hyunjoong-ssi?” Myungsoo asked as he saw Hyunjoong hugging Hyejung on the doorway. He checked on her when she didn't come back immediately.

Hyunjoong released Hyejung from his embrace but hold on to her hand.

“ Myungsoo-ssi, fancy meeting you here.” He replied with a taunting smile.

Chapter11


“I know we’ve only known each other for such a short period. But I really am sure about this. I like you Hyejungssi. Would it be okay if I court you?”

Hyejung almost dropped the cup of coffee she was holding. Good thing the table was just near so she hurriedly put the cup on top. She took several deep breaths before replying to Myungsoo.

“What? You want to court me? Why?” she blabbered.

“Because I like you. You’re beautiful, charming and you’re a well rounded person. From the first time I met you, I already like you. “Myungsoo replied with a smile.

“But...” Hyejung became speechless with Myungsoo’s words. She just stared at him- confusion painted on her face.

“Hyejungssi, I know it’s a shock so I won’t expect any answer from you at the moment. But I would like you to know that I’m sincere and hope you won’t find it burdensome if I’ll show you affection.” Myungsoo explained with a smile.

Although apprehensive, Hyejung just gave him a nod.

“I should be going then. Thank you for the dinner and do not hesitate to call me for anything.” And then he bowed and made his way out of the restaurant.

Hyejung called her staff so they can take out the dishes from the office. After giving last minute check and instructions, she decided to go home. While on her way, she can’t help but recall what transpired the whole day.

“Aisshh, Hyunjoong-ah! Why do you have to tease me to Atty Park? Do you really want me to be with him.” She annoying blurted. “Oh, wait. Should I tell him that Myungsoo wants to court me? Will he be alright with it? Wait, why am I concerned with how he will feel? Were not together. We just share Choi Estate and Choi Galleries. We have our own lives.” She continued her conversation with herself.

“But why do I feel that I need to tell him? And why am I annoyed when he teased me earlier? Aissshh, Hyejung-ah you are one weird girl! I’ll just listen to music. I’m starting to get head ache by thinking too much!” She blabbered and turned on the music to keep her company on her way.

She was walking on the hallway towards her apartment when she noticed that someone was following her. She just continued walking but started to feel a bit weird. She started to feel nervous when she reached her door and the man stopped as well but maintain a few steps away from her. She gathered all her courage, readies her stance just in case she needs to fight and turned to face the man.

“Who are you and what do you need?” she asked in a firm voice.

The man just stood there, his hood almost covering his face and a big sunglass covering his eyes.

“If you won’t tell me who you are, I’ll be calling the security of this building.” And Hyejung pulled out her phone from her pocket but never leaving her eyes from the man. She was dialing when she heard the man whispered.

“ Buin, it’s me”

“Hyunjoong-ah?” Hyejung squealed.

Only then Hyunjoong removed his hood and sunglasses.

“What are you thinking, Hyunjoong-ah? I could have hurt you. Why do you have to trail after me like that? “She asked, while trying to rein her temper.

“I just arrived ten minutes ago. I thought you’d be home so I knocked. Just then I heard of your neighbor open their door so I ran away. I was hiding near the stairway when I saw you came out of the elevator so I just followed.” He timidly explained.

Hyejung sighed and hurriedly unlocked her apartment. She motioned for Hyunjoong to follow her. She went directly to the living room and slumped on the couch. She saw Hyunjoong, meekly walking towards her so she asked.

“Why are you here Hyunjoong-ah?”

Hyunjoong stood in front of her and uttered.

“I’m sorry Buin. For teasing you with Atty Park earlier. I can really be annoying at times “Then gave her a bouquet of yellow tulips.

Hyejung just eyed him but accepted the flowers. Hyunjoong sat beside her and waited for her to speak up. They stayed like that for a couple of minutes. She just watched him fidgeting as she stared at him.

“Aissh you looked like a drenched puppy. How can I stay mad at you, Hyunjoong-ah?” she blurted out unintentionally. Hyunjoong who has his head down automatically look up to her and grin. Realizing her blunder, she just hid her face with the bouquet.

“Are we okay now, Buin? You’re not mad at me anymore?” he asked with sparkling eyes.

Hyejung just took a deep sigh and answered. “If I say no, what will you do?”

“I’m gonna stalk you till you get tired of me. Even if I’m out of the country, I’m still gonna haunt you.” He replied with conviction.

“Are you leaving soon?” She asked back.

“I have to. They’re planning to shoot a special episode for the drama and we need to go back to China. I hope it’s not gonna be long. “Hyunjoong answered with a sigh.

“When are you leaving?” Hyejung continued.

“By the end of the week. That’s why they called me urgently tonight.” He remarked. Hyejung just nodded. They stayed in comfortable silence for a while.

“Don’t worry, Buin. Your Shillang won’t forget the pledge?” He teased.

“What pledge?” she confusedly asked.

“My pledge to you.” Hyunjoong replied. Still Hyejung looked puzzled so he continued.

“One, wherever I may be, I will get medicine when my wife is sick. Two, I will never look at another woman. Three I am confident that I can overcome temptations and hardships and lastly as I'm married, I will always be around my wife, just like oxygen.” Hyunjoong enumerated.

When Hyunjoong finished, Hyejung clapped and gave him a pat on the back.

“For someone who’s not into mushy things that’s amazing. Wow, I never thought you still remember that. “ Hyejung exclaimed

“Did you think I take it lightly? That’s our pledge, Buin and sealed with our lips. You should not forget something like that.” He countered.

“That was four years ago and just for the show. You didn’t even bother trying to contact me after the show ended.” She rebuts.

“It was not a right time then. I was bounded by the contract I signed with DSP. We are not allowed to be in any relationship. I thought that if you and I agreed to be in a secret relationship, it’ll be unfair to you.” Hyunjoong explained.

“I’m not asking you to be with me, I just thought that we can be friends after all and that you won’t cut all sort of communication with me. “ Hyejung replied.

“Honestly, I tried so many times to contact you. But every time I do, I would realize that hearing your voice won’t be enough. I would want to see you and spend time with you. I get by with the thought that I’m doing this for your sake.” He confessed.

Silence filled the room as the two just stared at each other. Hyejung felt the sincerity on Hyunjoong’s words but she doesn’t know how to take it.

“So, what about now? What do you want to do? “She asked.

“I’m gonna pursue you. I have waited for four years and I believe that we are fated to be together. I will make you fall in love with me.” Hyunjoong declared.

Hyejung just stared back at him- too dazed to react on his confession. After a few minutes Hyunjoong stood up, dropped a quick kiss on her cheeks and whispered.

“I will try to be back as soon as possible. Wait for me, Buin.” And he leisurely walked out of her home.

Chapter10

Hyunjoong’s blood boiled upon seeing Atty Park holding Hyejung’s hand. He took a deep breath and stride towards their table. He stopped just near Hyejung’s chair and called her out.

“Buin!”

“Shillang! You’re here. Come sit down. You look tired.” And Hyejung took his hand as she let him sit on chair next to her.

“Sorry for coming in late, Atty Park.”  Hyunjoong apologized to the lawyer. He turned to Hyejung and gasped when he noticed her hand on top of the table." What happened to your hand, Buin? “

“I accidentally spilled hot coffee when Myungssoo-ssi was telling a joke.” She shyly explained.

“Would you like to go and have it checked first? We can drop by at a clinic before we go to Choi Galleries?” he asked with concern.

“No need, Hyunjoong-ah. Just take a snack first then we can leave." Hyejung replied with a smile.

“We have a clinic in the office so we can have her checked there.” Myungsoo interjected.

“Okay, good. I’ll just go to the restroom and wash it for now.” Hyejung stated. 

“Hyunjoong-ah, just take my sandwich. I already ate the half." She ordered.

Hyunjoong nodded and watched Hyejung left. He calmed a bit after being fussed by Hyejung. He took the sandwich and finished it in no time.

“Atty Park, do the staff knows that we’ll be the one inheriting Choi Galleries?”  Hyunjoong asked Myungssoo.

“Not yet. We just informed them that the new board members will be coming over. It’s gonna be a surprise for the staff and if you would like for us to keep this as confidential, we will ask all our staff to sign a confidentiality agreement.” Myungsoo explained.

“I think there’s no need. Being part owner of Choi Galleries, I would like to help promote the business. Although most of the decisions will still come from you, we would like to help the company grow.” He replied.

“That’s good then. I know Uncle Mirin will be glad for the help. By the way Hyunjoong-ssi, about Hyejung-ssi...” Myungsoo started but he stopped when they saw Hyejung approaching. Hyunjoong stood up and help her to her seat.

“Did you eat the sandwich? Do you want anything else?” Hyejung asked with concern.

“No. I’m already full. We can just have dinner on our way home later.” Hyunjoong replied as he took her hands and inspected the burns.

“It’s nothing, Shillang.” Hyejung quipped to appease the worried man. She then turn to Myungsoo and stated with a smile. “I guess we can go now, Myungssoo-ssi.”

“Buin, I don’t have my car with me. I’ll drive for us and just follow Atty.Park.” Hyunjoong stated and Hyejung just nodded. Myungsoo went ahead and asked them to just follow.

They were already in the car, Hyunjoong steadily driving trailing after Atty. Park. Hyejung as just looking at the road when Hyunjoong suddenly speak up.

“So Buin, what have you two talked about earlier? You seem to be so happy that you accidentally burned your hands.”

“He was just telling stories about his childhood and growing up with the Choi’s. I really wish we could have met the couple. They seem to be good people." Hyejung simply replied.

“I agree. And you seem to be taken with Myungsoo-ssi. Are you interested in him?" Hyunjoong teased.

“Just in case that I’am, what’s wrong with that?" Hyejung snapped and turned her back at him. His constant teasing about Atty Park really irked her this tme.

Hyunjoong was taken aback. His teasing back fired and he can’t find a word to answer her. Silence filled the car until they reached their destination. Hyunjoong was about to help Hyejung out of the car but she went ahead of him. When Hyejung reached Myungsoo he placed his hand on her elbows and guided her as they went inside the office. Hyunjoong had no choice but to trail after them.

They were lead to the conference room and Myungsoo excused himself so he can call all the staff and officers. The couple was left alone and Hyunjoong just keep on glancing at Hyejung.

“Buin” Hyunjoong gently called out to her. Hyejung ignored him so he called her again. 

“Buin, I’m sorry.”

“Just don’t talk to me now, Hyunjoong.” she said sternly.

“I was just teasing, Buin.” He explained.

“Well I don’t appreciate it.” She replied.

“I’m sorry. Let me make it up to you.” Hyunjoong sincerely apologized.

“Myungsoo-ssi and the staff are approaching. “She just shrugged him off. “Let’s just drop this off first.” and then checked her clothes for creases and dirt.

Myungsoo let the staff in and heard their collective gasped upon seeing the waiting couple. He asked them to take a seat so they can start the meeting.

“Good afternoon to everyone. As I have advised previously, Choi Galleries will have new board members. Uncle Mirin has chosen them personally so I hope you will give them the same support that you have been giving us. Let’s welcome Kim HyunJoong and Hwangbo Hyejung in Choi Galleries.”

Hyunjoong and Hwangbo stood up and bowed to the staff. Hyunjoong let Hyejung introduced herself first.

“Good afternoon. I’m Hwangbo Hyejung. It’s a pleasure meeting all of you and to become a part of this company. We may not be as well versed as you guys with regard to this business but I promise to help out in every way I can. Thank you and it’s nice to meet all of you.”

The staff clapped after her introduction. Now it’s time for Hyunjoong to greet the staff.

“Hello every one. I’m Kim Hyunjoong. It might be a surprise for all of you to find out that Hwangbossi and I will be the new board members. We will try to learn more about our company and will work hard so that Mirin-ssi will be proud of us. Thank you and hope we can all be friends.”

After the couple’s introduction, Myungsoo, introduced the staff one by one. The officers of each department were asked to ready business presentation. Hyejung and Hyunjoong listen intently and they were impressed at how the company was well led. After the meeting, Myungsoo toured them in the office. After two hours of staying in Choi Galleries, they were ready to head out. Just then, Atty Park reminded Hwangbo about her burns. They dropped by at the clinic before they went out. The doctor applied topical crème and gave her another tube that she can use until the burns heal.  Myungsoo see them to their car and tell them to contact him if they have concerns. Hwangbo was about to get inside her car when she turned and asked the lawyer.

“Myungsoo-ssi would you like to join us for dinner? We’ll be dining in my restaurant.” She offered.

Myungsoo was pleasantly surprised with the invitation. He nodded with a smile and asked if they can wait up since he needs to get some documents in his office. Hyejung agreed and get in the car to wait.

“I’ve asked Myungsoo-ssi to have dinner with us. Let’s just go to Shimsontang since it’s not that far from here.” Hyejung informed Hyunjoong.

Hyunjoong wanted to react but knowing that his Buin is still annoyed with him, he just mumbled a simple okay. He really wanted to make it up to her, apologized over dinner but since she invited the lawyer he needs to find another opportunity.

They waited for Atty Park in silence. Hyejung was facing the other side and Hyunjoong don’t know how he can reach out to her. After about ten minutes they saw Myungsoo walking towards them. Hyejung rolled down the windows and called him.

“Hyejung-ssi, Hyungjoongssi, I’ll just follow you. I need to bring my car since I need to go to Choi Estate after." Myungsoo told them. The couple just nodded and then they drove towards Hongdae.

It took about fifteen minutes for them to reach Shimsontang. Since it’s still a bit early, Hyunjoong needed to use the back door of the restaurant so people won’t see him. Myungsoo just followed after Hyejung also to avoid any issue if people will see them together. Hyejung asked the staff to lead Hyunjoong and Myungsoo into her office once they came in. Food will be served there too. The two men were able to come in without a hitch and Hyejung excused herself so she can advise the staff what food to prepare.

The men were treated with a good food. Hwangbo served the signature dish- Shimsuentang, dimsum and ssangyumpsal. Myungsoo complimented the food and Hwangbo shyly thanked him. Hyunjoong who was sitting beside her thanked her for dinner. They enjoyed eating in companionable silence, but they were still half way over dinner when Hyunjoong’s phone rang. He excused himself and answered the call on the other side of the room.

She knew that it’s not polite to eavesdrop but Hyejung can’t help but hear Hyunjoong saying that he’s still busy. He kept on dis agreeing with the other party but after a few minutes, she heard him mumbled a resigned okay. She stared at him as he walked back towards them.

“Buin, I’m sorry but I need to leave. Hyung’s on the way to pick me up. Something urgent came up.” He explained.

Hyejung just nodded.  Hyunjoong turned to Myungsoo and the lawyer told him its okay.

“Hyunjoong-ah, just stay and eat till your manager arrives." Hyejung muttered as soon as he sat beside her.

Hyunjoong tried to eat but he’s really wary to leave since he hasn’t talked to Hyejung yet. He kept on glancing at her but she either just keeps her eye on her food or talking to Myungsoo. When his phone rang again he reluctantly stood up and bid goodbye.

“ Myungsoo-ssi, thank you for taking time in introducing us to the staff of Choi Galleries." then he turned to Hyejung. “Buin, I need to go. I’ll call you soon.”  And then slipped out of the restaurant again thru the backdoor.

It was already few minutes after Hyunjoong left but Hyejung was still staring at the door. She was a bit startled when Myungsoo called her out.

“Hyejungssi, I can see that you’re business is really successful. Are you planning to put up some other branch?”

“Well, I’m praying for that. There’s still a lot of work to be done. For now, I’m focusing here and of course with Choi Galleries.” She humbly replied.

They enjoyed and finished dinner while talking about the Choi Galleries and Hyejung’s anecdotes of the entertainment industry.  They were already done with dinner and having coffee when…

“Hmmm, Hyejungssi, I hope you don’t mind but can I ask something.” Myungsoo said with uncertainty.

“Sure. Go ahead.” Hwangbo replied with a timid smile.

“You said than you and Hyunjoong are not together right?” to which Hwangbo nodded.

Myungsoo paused and took a deep breath and then said.

“I know we've only known each other for such a short period. But I really am sure about this. I like you Hyejungssi. Would it be okay if I court you?”

Hello guys! here's a new chapter for you. I'm sorry for the long wait, been really busy with work and have no time to write.This chapter maybe boring but i hope you'll still leave comments.

Chapter9


“If it’s just me I’d like to keep and stay in Choi Estate, Hyunjoong-ah” Hyejung voiced out as they were driving back to her place the next day.

The couple spent the whole day exploring the estate that they inherited from the Choi’s. Unlike the previous night, Hyunjoong was energetic and bubbly the entire day. They drove around the estate with just the two of them, spend time in the orchard, visited Hera’s flower garden and took another dip in the pool. It was a very relaxing day for the two of them. At around six in the evening, they reluctantly leave the estate to go back t Seoul.

“I love the place too, Buin.” Hyunjoong replied. “I want to spend more time with you there but work beckons. We can go back on our free time anyway. Just let me know so I can pick you up.” He added.

“Do you think it would be fair if we accepted their gift?” she asked again.

“Honestly, I think its okay. It’s all legal and even Atty.Park advised that it’s already ours even if we don’t do anything. We just have to advise them formally of our plans for the properties. “He responded.

“I’ll have meeting with the company tomorrow regarding this. I’ll let you know of their advice.” Hyejung offered.

“Okay. Our company set the meeting day after tomorrow. Then maybe we can meet up and talk to Atty.Park after.” Hyunjoong replied. Just then they reached her apartment. They hurriedly bid goodbye in the car, then Hyejung went down just when she’s sure that no one’s around.

The next day Hwangbo went to see his manager regarding the inheritance. She was advised that since the properties were left to them and the will is legal, then she can accept it if she desires. This is also the advice of the legal counsel from KeyEast to Hyunjoong. He can accept the properties as long as dealing with the Choi Gallery and Choi Estate will not affect his contract with the company. When things are settled with their companies, Hyejung and Hyunjoong decided to meet up again before they see Atty Park. Hyunjoong will drop by at Hyejung’s house after his shoot so they can discuss things. It’s almost ten in the evening when Hyunjoong parked his car at the 2nd floor of Hyejung’s building then he texted her that he’s on his way up. Luck is on their side because the hallway and elevator was deserted when Hyujoong made his way to her place. Hyejung was already waiting so at the first ring of the doorbell, she immediately opened the door

“Are you sure no one saw you on your way here?” Hwangbo asked as soon as she closed the door.

“Affirmative.” Hyunjoong replied with a smile. Hyejung took a sigh of relief and led Hyunjoong to the living room.

“You have a nice place, Buin. This is my first time here.” Hyunjoong utted as he sat on the ivory white couch.

“Thank you, Hyunjoong-ah. By the way, have you had dinner?” she asked.

“Not yet. I went here straight from the shoot but we ate donuts in the set. “He replied.

“Its ten in the evening and all you ate were donuts? It’s very unhealthy. Just stay here. I have kimchi stew and chicken strips. I’ll just heat the food, okay.” Hyejung grumbled and left Hyunjoong in the living room.

Hyunjoong took the time to check out the place. He saw pictures of Hwangbo with her family, her with the Muhan girls and ones with her friends from the industry. He also saw a picture of her and Junjin. He then walked towards the kitchen and watched Hyejung as she prepared the meal. Her back was facing him and when she turned to call him, she was surprised to see Hyunjoong watching her intently.

“Yah! Hyunjoong-ah! Are you trying to give me a heart attack? Don’t sneak on me like that.” She shrieked. “Come on now, and take a seat.”

Hyunjoong took a seat and Hwangbo started serving him food. The scene reminded him of their We got married days. He just smiled at her and started eating.

“Hyunjoong-ah, now that we got our companies’ go signal, do you think we could go and check Choi Galleries this time? “ Hyejung asked while watching Hyunjoong eats.

“I was about to suggest that too. “He replied. “When are you free so I can check my schedule?” Hyunjoong added.

Hyejung uttered a hurried “wait” and ran towards her room. When she came back, she was already checking her planner. She took a seat and after a few seconds, she stated.

“I have photo shoot tomorrow and the next day. Taping on the other day so that means I’ll be free three days from now.”

“Okay, just hang on a second.” Hyunjoong replied. He fished his phone from his pocket and placed a call to his manager. It took him a few minutes before he gave her an answer.

“Hyung said we have schedule on that day but only in the morning. Just a short interview for a magazine. We can meet Atty Park in the afternoon.”

“Okay. We can just meet up with him in the café then head to Choi Galleries.” Hyejung confirmed.

When Hyunjoong finished his food, he offered to wash the dishes since she prepared food. Hwangbo refused, saying that he is a guest and just ordered him to go back and relax on the living room. Since he knew that she will not accept even if he insists, he just went back to the living room. He was idly seating on the couch when he heard a scratching noise. He stood up and trace where the sound was coming from. He reached the door on the left and was about to open it since it was not locked when he heard her call him out.

“Hyunjoong-ah what are you doing in front of my room?”

“Oh, sorry .Is this room? I heard a scratching noise so I thought of checking it out.” He explained.

“Omo! I forgot to let Jins out. I usually walk him on the park near here around this time.” Hyejung blurted and rushed towards her room.

“Then I’ll better head out now so you can take Jins out.” He said as he watched her from the door.

“Let’s go down together then. Anyway it’s a bit late so no one will see us. “She replied with Jins in her arms. The two head out of the house. Hyunjoong went down at the 2nd floor parking while Hyejung and Jins went their way to the park.

As agreed, the couple set a meeting with Atty Park after they met. It’s already one in the afternoon and Hyejung was almost in Café Ritz when she heard her phone ring. She put on the mobile headset and answered the call.

“Hello, Buin, I’ve got a problem.” Hyunjoong immediate blurted when she answered the call.

“Are you okay, Hyunjoong-ah? Where are you? I’m just a few minutes away from the café” Hyejung asked back.

“That’s the problem, Buin. The interview was delayed so I’m stuck here. I’ll be late. Can we just reschedule?” Hyunjoong asked in frustration.

“I’ll just wait for you. I just reached the café. I can see Atty Park waiting. I’ll just ask him to wait for you. “Hyejung replied.

“Is he alone? “ Hyunjoong asked again.

“I don’t see anyone with him, so I guess he is. Don’t worry I know he’ll understand. I’ll just keep him company while we wait for you, okay. “Hyejung responded.

Hyejung’s words made him feel more anxious. “Buin, do me a favor please. Can you just wait for me in your car?”

“You’re acting weird Hyunjoong-ah. Atty Park is already waiting so I’d better go and see him to explain that you will be late. Just hurry and finish the shoot, okay? I’ll see you.” Hwangbo quipped and hang up before Hyunjoong made a reply.

Hyunjoong became more frustrated; he checked on his manager and asked if they’re almost done with the shoot. Good thing that the staff told him that they only need a few more shot. He asked again if they can do it soon since he needs to attend to a very important matter. The staff agreed and hurriedly finished the set up. Hyunjoong followed every order from the photographer so they finished the shoot in no time.

As soon as Hyejung finished the call with Hyunjoong, she went inside the café to meet Atty Park. When she walked in, the lawyer was immersed with his reading but automatically stood up and greeted her. He then assisted her as she took a seat.

“Good afternoon, Hyejungssi. It’s nice seeing you again.” Myungsoo greeted.

“It’s nice seeing you again Atty Park. Hyunjoong-ssi will be a little bit late. He’s still in a photo shoot. Would it be okay to wait for him?” Hyejung replied.

“Its okay, Hyejungssi. I informed the staff that we’ll be dropping by today so we’ll wait for Hyunjoong-ssi.” He confirmed.

“I know you’re a busy person Atty Park. You can finish what you’re doing. I will just stay here and won’t bother you as we wait for Hyunjoong.” Hyejung stated with a smile.

“I’ve finished my work before heading here. I was just reading updates when you walked in. Anyway, can you just call me Myungsoo? Atty. Park seems so formal. We’ll be working closely anyway now that Choi Estate and Choi Galleries were left to you and Hyunjoong.”

“Okay, Myungsoo-ssi. So you’re really close to the Choi’s, right?” Hyejung asked.

“They were my second parents. I grew up with them. Dad and Uncle Mirin were best friends since middle school. When Uncle Mirin put up Choi Galleries, Dad decided to quit his job and just work for him. We live just close to Choi Estate and since they don’t have any kids, Uncle and Aunt Hera treated me as their own.” Myungsoo told her.

On the other side, Hyunjoong is now on his way to the café. He’s very antsy knowing that Hyejung is alone with Atty Park. He can still remember his manager’s words when they first met the lawyer. They were on their way out when he teased him.

“Hyunjoong-ah, I think Atty Park likes Hwangbo-ssi. He can’t seem to take his eyes off her.”

It made Hyunjoong very uneasy from then on. He felt that Myungsoo can come between her and Hyejung. Not that they’re already together but he feels that this could be a good start for them. So many things have changed over time and after four years of not seeing each other; fate brought them back together thru the help of Choi couple. He is adamant about working things out with his Buin and he’ll do anything just to keep her.

When Hyunjoong reached the café, he just bid a hurried goodbye to his manager and rushed towards the café’. It’s been almost an hour since he called Hyejung and so many thoughts have crossed his mind. He made his way towards their table and he almost tripped with what he saw.

Atty. Park was holding Hyejung’s hand and a smile was plastered on his face.

Dang! Yes he can trust Atty Park with the Choi’s properties but NOT when it comes to Hyejung!
